PORT JERVIS, NY – Any and all veterans are invited to the Erie Trackside Manor on Flag Day, June 14, 2025 from 5-10 p.m. for a delicious meal, music by DJ Rockafuller, and an evening held in their honor.
“A Thank You for Your Service Gala” encourages all veterans (and one guest each) to attend a completely free-of-charge, unforgettable evening of dinner, camaraderie, and fun.
Hosted by Luanna and Mitch Sauschuck and family (Luanna, Mitch, Sydney and Antonio Sauschuck-Mininno, Carson and Riley Sauschuck, and Cody Brewster), this family hopes to fill the Erie Trackside Manor to the allowed 200 event capacity.
“Our guests of honor are any/all veterans that have served our great Nation. So far only a handful have signed up, but we want to fill all of the seats that the Erie can hold for this special day,” Luanna said.
Veterans of all military branches, service eras, and diverse backgrounds are encouraged to attend and enjoy an evening held completely in their honor.
Luanna said that as a person who has always respected, appreciated, and understood the sacrifices made by those who have served, she has always realized how precious freedom is. While teaching middle school for 32 years at Delaware Valley School District, and being the mother of three children who attended Port Jervis School District, she and her own children and students have proudly recited the Pledge of Allegiance daily.
“Every year for 32 years, I have asked my children/students in the first two weeks of school to please think deeply about what those words mean and stand for. I have asked them to take their time and say the words for the Pledge of Allegiance with respect and gratitude,” Luanna said.
Costs for the Gala have been funded in creative ways, including bake sales that included Luanna's mom’s special pumpkin cake recipe, community support through online basket raffles reachable on Sydney Sauschuck’s Facebook page, general donations, and local business sponsors for veteran attendees (with recognition of these businesses at the Gala).
Anyone wishing to help in any of these ways may contact Luanna at 845-754-5630 or luannasauschuck@gmail.com
To attend, veterans are asked to RSVP and register for “A Thank You for Your Service Gala” at https://forms.gle/XhitjUimPj2Be1PE6.
