OUR PARADE HAS BEEN REVISED!! PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR PARADE LINE UP CHANGES AND OUR FINISH WILL BE AT THE MATAMORAS FIREHOUSE AT AIRPORT PARK!! A BIG THANKS TO THE BOROUGH OF MATAMORAS AND THEIR DPW TEAM FOR MAKING THIS WORK. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS PARADE IS SATURDAY EVENING WITH PEOPLE WALKING IN THE DARK (COSTUMES AND DECORATIONS WITH LIGHTS ARE WELCOME) WE ARE ALSO HOSTING A BUSINESS DECORATING LIGHTING CONTEST PLEASE DECORATE THE EXTERIOR OF YOUR BUSINESS AND SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY TO THE INFO@TRISTATECHAMBER.ORG
Our parade will line up on Sussex Street in Port Jervis (off of East Main Street) at 4:00PM and will start at 5:00 PM. Please tell everyone participating that NO vehicles will be allowed to enter Sussex Street from the City Hall Side of Sussex Street for safety reasons. The Parade will march to down Hammond Street, Right onto Fowler and Right on Front Street, Over and Under the Underpass to Pennyslvania Avenue, Left onto 7th Streetwhere the parade disbands at The Matamoras Firehouse. Refreshments will be served after the parade inside. Trophy Categories Best Overall Unit– One Trophy Best Appearing Musical Holiday Float Best Appearing Walking Group Best Decorated Emergency Vehicles Most Original In addition there will be a business Lighting Contest with 3 prizes!! Tradition/Holiday/Character Each participating group will receive a certificate of appreciation just for being a part of this Holiday Tradition in the Tri-State area. Please fill out the reverse side of this letter and return it to the Chamber, via fax, email or mail, no later than November 30, 2022 so final plans can be made for this great event. Also, please do NOT include a Santa Claus as part of your group since the Chamber of Commerce already has Santa at the end of the parade line-up on top of the last Firetruck. Let’s not confuse our youngsters. If you are unable to participate and would like to make a donation to help defray expenses for bands, refreshments, etc., please send your donation to the Chamber of Commerce and we will make sure your group is recognized for your part in making this event possible.
