We had a chance to help celebrate the Grand Opening of S A Baxter's light manufacturing business this week. In speaking with Joe Butto, whose family along with city officials were on hand to help celebrate the company's milestone Grand Opening in Port Jervis, it was learned that this well-established business is part of a global company presence in its field. SA Baxter, an architectural hardware manufacturer, has locations in New York and London, as well as clients around the world.

The company's mission, as noted on its website, is to create architectural hardware of exceptional beauty and quality.

"Cast in noble medals and and finished by hand, our work reflects a deep respect for craftmanship and a true belief that true luxury lies in the details", its mission statement reads.

Butto said in planning its newest location move to Port Jervis, he worked closely with Mayor Dominic Cicalese and others in the city, and he couldn't be happier with the assistance and reception received.

Cicalese noted that light manufacturing, such as what S A Baxter offers from the first floor of 55 Jersey Avenue, is exactly what Port Jervis needs.

It does not bring extra truck traffic to the downtown business area as it operates cleanly, quietly, and efficiently as it helps increase business operations in the city.

Also, from its website, the business is listed as a manufacturer of architectural hardware for high-end residential and commercial projects. Cast in brass, bronze and white bronze base metals, the business notes that it offers among the most comprehensive finish pallets in the industry, including Bespoke and Project-Ready Collections with extensive selection of patterns and finishes.

Quality architectural products were displayed in its Port Jervis location with information about ordering handmade hardware. The business notes that it also uses an ancient lost process of wax casting combined with modern, green technology for limitless design capabilities. It collaborates with renowned artisans, designers, and architects for styles ranging from traditional to contemporary and anything in between.
