Pictured are photos of the National Night Out event that followed NNO's Port Jervis parade through the city's downtown streets. The community gathering event was held on Tuesday evening, August 2, at the city's Riverside Park. Dozens of community groups presented games, prizes, information and tasty treats, all free of charge. Sponsored by Port Jervis Police Department, prizes including bikes and other special items were distributed among the many hundreds who attended.

PJFD Chief William Worden said he was very happy to see the great turnout and very appreciative for the support of so m any in helping to make the event a fun, very successful event. Worden said the event is aimed at improving safety, community unity, and bettering the quality of life in the region for all.

Part of this event included the participation of two families who are missing a loved one, two young mothers who have been missing from the area since mid-June. The parents appealed to help form everyone in providing tips and information to help find Brittany Hendershot (age 20) and Heather Callas (age 28).

Thank you to all who hosted and participated in bringing this our Port Jervis community!
