Kerri Stroka, Deputy Superintendent of BOCES, said – as hundreds of flags waved during Rumshock’s first tiny home departure to Port Jervis, “I can tell you that what our students have built represents the very best of our community’s gratitude in action. To our donors, our congressman, and especially our incredible students, thank you for turning compassion into craftmanship. And for proving that the next generation truly understands the meaning of service to others.”
The students were transported by bus to Port Jervis to a waiting delegation of veterans, community groups, individuals, and patriotic music provided by members of the Broome Street Band in front of the Rumshock’s tiny home site. Flags waved as the tiny home was backed in and placed on its foundation.
