The three candidates with the highest number of votes will receive three-year terms. The fourth highest candidate will receive a one-year term.


Ballot Information


Proposition #1 - Budget Vote: Shall the Board of Education be authorized to expend $90,578,206 to meet estimated expenditures for the 2023-2024 school year and to levy taxes therefore?

Proposition #2 - Capital Project, Phase III: Shall the Board of Education authorize the issuance of not to exceed $3,200,000 aggregate principal amount of Serial General Obligation Bonds and the expenditure of $9,125,000 from available fund balance to finance the construction, reconstruction, renovation and improvement of various school district buildings, facilities and sites, including athletic fields, the acquisition of original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purpose for which such buildings, facilities and sites, including athletic fields, are to be used, and the payment of costs incidental thereto?

Proposition #3 - Purchase of 150 Pike Street: Shall the Board of Education of the Port Jervis City School District be authorized to purchase from 150 Pike Street Limited Partnership, at a price not to exceed $1,700,000, together with closing costs, certain real property known by street address 146-150 Pike Street, Port Jervis New York and designated as Section 12; Block 8, Lot 14, as more fully described in a legal description on file in the Office of the District Clerk; which sale shall be on substantially the terms and conditions set forth in a contract of sale, on file in the Office of the District Clerk?

Proposition #4 - Land Swap with the City of Port Jervis: Shall the Board of Education be authorized to convey a parcel of School District real property located at 3 Mary Street and 9 Sullivan Avenue, Port Jervis New York (Parcel ID Section 8, Block 8, Lots 2 and 17) to the City of Port Jervis to be used for City and other public purposes in exchange for a parcel of land located 108 East Main Street, Port Jervis, New York (Section 9, Block 3 Lot 48), to be used for school purposes at the Port Jervis Middle School, on substantially the terms and conditions set forth in an Inter-Municipal Agreement, and on file in the School District Office?

Proposition #5 - Amendment of Student Walking Distances: Shall the Board of Education of the Port Jervis City School District modify its public school transportation eligibility, effective at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, to provide transportation for elementary students residing more than 0.5 miles from the school they legally attend; and to provide transportation for secondary students residing more than 1.0 mile from the school they legally attend?
