PORT JERVIS, NY – Chilly fall mornings and nights have arrived, and the cold of winter is approaching.  For some, this brings the beauty of a new season. For others, it brings the challenge of staying warm – and staying alive. You can help.

The Four Seasons Chorale and Port Jervis/Tri-State Warming Station are teaming up once again to help raise funds for the life-saving services of Port Jervis’ Warming Station. A return of what has become an annual admission-free concert is being hosted to benefit the station’s vital mission for the area’s unhoused individuals.  All are in invited.

The concert, sponsored by Jeff Bank and Bavoso Law, PLLC, is being hosted to support the non-profit Together in Hope organization – which runs Port Jervis’ Warming Station.  It will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 6, at the United Presbyterian & Reformed Church, 60 Sussex Street.  It will feature intergenerational music performed by Four Seasons Chorale, New Life School Youth Choir, Dingman-Delaware Children’s Choir, and popular guest drummer Maxwell Kofi Donkor.  They would love to see you there.

Aside from the concert itself, it is worth noting that some of the area’s unhoused individuals routinely visit the United Presbyterian & Reformed Church, and other local places of worship, throughout the year not only for church and community dinners, food and clothing distributions, assistance and outreach, but also to simply to join congregations for weekly church services and periodic special events.

Soon opening for its 11th season, Port’s Warming Station offers warmth, food, clothing, and other cold-weather services.  It also offers caseworker services, long-term connection with other service providers, assistance in getting on housing waiting lists, applying for SNAP, Medicaid, and other low-income services, and education and guidance in achieving personal goals.

Last season, more than 87 guests used the life-saving services of the Warming Station.  Over 2,000 volunteer hours were provided during 134 cold-weather nights.  Hot meals were donated nightly by the Tri-State community by signing up through the online Warming Station Meal Train.

All are invited to attend the upcoming community concert to help support the services of Port’s Warming Station and Together in Hope organization.  If you would like to learn more about this opportunity, please call Kathy at 914-850-5586. If able, they would love to see and hear from you.
