Upcoming Piano Duets press release


On Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 3:00 PM St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 31 West Main Street, Port Jervis presents “Four Hands, Two People, One Heart: A Journey of Piano Duets” played by Kathy Brink and Nancy Wolfe. The two friends met while undergraduates at Susquehanna University, where both studied piano as their main instrument.


Ms. Brink earned her Bachelor of Music in music education from Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, PA) and her Master of Music in music education from Ithaca College. For the past 27 years, she has been Director of Music at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Port Jervis, NY where she serves as organist and director of musical groups which have included a children’s choir, adult choir, and Joyful Noise, a multicultural drumming and

xylophone ensemble. She also has served as a guest conductor for several children’s choir workshops and festivals. Ms. Brink is currently employed at The Homestead School, Glen Spey, NY as their music specialist She has sung with the Arcadia Chorale (formerly Robert Dale Chorale) of Scranton, PA for 19 years, and has been accompanist and soloist for several of those years. She has been director of the Four Seasons Chorale, Port Jervis, NY since its reorganization in 2013. She is a member of ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.


Nancy Wolfe is a freelance pianist, teacher, and music mentor based in New York City. A versatile pit keyboard artist and rehearsal pianist, she has played for over 25 Broadway productions with diverse stylistic demands. Most recently she performed as lead keyboardist on the first national tour of Disney’s Aladdin. Other U.S. tours include Hal Prince’s Tony Award-winning production of Show Boat, Disney’s Beauty and the

Beast, and Sister Act, as well as two European tours of West Side Story. Regional venues include The Old Globe Theatre (San Diego, CA), Paper Mill Playhouse (Millburn, NJ), Bucks County Playhouse (New Hope, PA), and more. Additional credits include Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Broadway Under the Stars in Central Park and Bryant Park. As a classically trained collaborative pianist, she has performed with a variety of singers and instrumentalists throughout the United States, Europe, and China. She has taught piano at private schools in New York City and Bryn Mawr, PA. Ms. Wolfe has also crafted focused classes for adults and children with special needs through her association with AHRC New York City, a non-profit organization providing day habilitation services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has worked in a similar capacity at Bronx House, a community center whose mission is to promote a vibrant, inclusive community through the arts. Ms. Wolfe earned her Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, PA) and her Master of Music in chamber music/accompanying and piano pedagogy from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA).


The concert will feature music of Johann Christian Bach, Florent Schmitt, Cecile Chaminade, Leroy Anderson and jazz pieces of Christopher Norton. A silent auction and reception will follow the concert. Suggested donation of $10 (more if you can, less if you can’t!) benefits St. Peter’s mission in the Port Jervis community.
