This weekend features many more holiday and other events, once again bringing lots for everyone to be involved in, or just simply enjoy attending.

The annual Rick Drew Holiday Tree Lighting was held in West End's Memorial Park on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., and was attended by many of the Drew Family, neighbors, friends, members of the Common Council, firefighters, and more. Memories were shared about the late Rick Drew, organizer of many parades in the community and who was involved in many civic events throughout his life. Immediately following the tree lighting, refreshments were served at Excelsior Engine Co. No. 5, right across the street.

Tomorrow (Sunday, December 5, 2021), the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce's 49th Rick Drew Holiday Parade will step off from City Hall at 2 p.m. The parade will go through the city's downtown, across the Mid-Delaware Bridge to Matamoras Fire House. Refreshments will be served and participation certificates awarded, as well as special awards to groups that have gone all out to display their holiday spirit. Bon Secours Community Hospital is being honored as this year's Grand Marshal for all of their efforts which continue during the Covid19 Pandemic.

Prior to the parade on Sunday, a Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Ceremony will be held by local veteran groups at West End Beach, at 1 p.m.
